| ghost hunting.
The original plan was to go ghost hunting.
oscar suggested club asylum which is an abandoned insane asylum in pasadena
over by suicide bridge. I tried looking it up online and didn't find
much luck. I found a post on a Ghosttowns forum where a guy said
"if youre in looking for the insane asylum.. all i know is that you head
west on colorado past fair oaks and orange grove.. when you head over a
bridge.. make a left and manuever around in the streets.. itll be
nearby a street that goes under two underpasses of colorado street that
has alot of lamps.. thats all i know about the insane asylum sorry.."
That doesn't help much. Ah, well, maybe Romel or Jay might know a way there.
I found something a but closer which was Olive View Medical Center in
Sylmar. Mehh, it's still running. I don't wanna fuck with that.
Then I struck gold.
Some girl left a post on the forum with the following:
"San Francisco Abdoned Army Hospital
Any One from the bay area looking to
check out a crazy haunted place? This place is no joke if you scare
easy dont go here !ts an abdoned army hospital in Frisco and the
history is that 500 of the soldiers that died in the hospital (due to
lack of cemetaries & money ) are buried in the back under a
concrete slab I've researched it and it is all true any one interested
and looking for directions hit me up I also have pics of this place
that turned out really weird."
Is this for fucking real? Of course I grew interested and started doing ym own research.
In
the post-Gold Rush days of the mid-1800s, San Francisco was a booming
city and port. In 1853, a Marine Hospital opened in the city to care at
no charge for merchant seamen from all over the world. In 1875, a new
Marine Hospital opened on the Presidio, with an expanded mission to
serve immigrants, the U.S. Coast Guard, Native Americans, and patients
with leprosy
Turns out that this Navy hospital was closed down due to lack of
insufficient funds from the governement, but it was still used for a
while for AIDS and animal testing until it ended up abandoned
altogether.
The marine hospital had since the
1870s maintained a cemetery north of the hospital complex. While
nointerments had been made in recent years, the cemetery reportedly
held the remains of from 200 to 500 merchant seamen. Partially covered
by a paved parking area and the tennis courts, the cemetery was cleared
of grave markers and remains. In recent times, however, a landfill in
the area disclosed the partial skeletal remains of two individuals
Now, time for the photos. The hospital doesn't look all that
creepy. In fact during the day time it is said to be very vibrant with
all the sun shining in and all the spray paint on the walls. Yes, spray
paint. Local graff heads hit this shit up like none other! Holy shit, i
was looking for ghosts but found something even better. Go me, go me! I
found a mess of photos online. I even saw one picture where someone
dragged a matress into one of the emty rooms and there were beer
bottles and used condoms galore.
yum. :X
